Position Description

​The Faculty of Medicine of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is accepting applications for tenure track (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer-Assistant Professor) positions beginning October 2014. Research areas include: Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology, Cancer Research, Immunology, Medical Neurobiology, Microbiology and Molecular Genetics (School of Medicine); Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology (School of Pharmacy); and Biostatistics & epidemiology, Health promotion, Health policy & management, Behavioral sciences (School of Public Health). 


Candidates who hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree that demonstrated excellence and creativity during their doctoral and postdoctoral training should apply. Successful candidates are expected to carry out independent competitive research programs while participating in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Applications should include: curriculum vitae, list of publications (including impact factor of the journals), a passport picture and a summary of present and future research plans (no longer than 3 pages). Candidates should also solicit three letters of recommendation on their behalf from prominent scientists. Those letters should be sent directly to the dean’s office (see below).

Complete applications (including the three letters of recommendation) should be sent by e-mail to the Dean's office no later than October 13th, 2013.

Position Description

Prerequisites: 

v  PhD in occupational therapy
v  Post-doctoral training (preferably abroad)
v  Academic teaching experience
v  Proven research experience
 
The successful candidate will be required to:
 
v  Teach in Hebrew
v  Supervise advanced degree students
v  Develop independent research
v  Demonstrate scientific leadership
v  Raise research funds from competitive research foundations
v  Involve him/herself in all of the School’s activity

Rank will be determined according to the successful candidate’s qualifications.

v  Detailed CV and complete list of publications (including the journal's impact factor), according to the example on the Hebrew University Office of the Academic Secretary’s website.
v  Scientific biography (2-3 pages). The emphasis should be on future plans. Documents longer than 3 pages will not be considered by the Search Committee.
v  List of fields of interest in research and teaching
v  One hard copy of three (3) articles that will be used to evaluate their achievements
v  Three letters of recommendation solicited by the applicant should be sent by e-mail to the Dean's office.
v  Teaching surveys (if any)
