Research Interests

My research interests lie in the field of genetic epidemiology, focusing on genetic and environmental risk factors for cardiovascular and metabolic traits and diseases. I have a particular interest in the concept of “Developmental Origins of Health and Disease”, i.e. the impact of the early environment on cardiometabolic risk factors in adulthood. Additionally, I am studying the contribution of parent-of-origin effects to adult cardiometabolic health, examining both genomic imprinting and maternal genotype effects on the intrauterine environment.
