Research Interests
RNA regulators of gene expression have become a growing focus of scientific attention due to the accumulating evidence that such molecules, widespread in both pro- and eukaryotes, participate in regulation of almost all cellular processes. Our scientific work is focused on studies of RNA regulators in Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium and studies of gene regulation in response to stress. We are in particular interested in deciphering the physiological roles and the mechanisms by which small RNAs and RNA elements of mRNA leaders control the expression of their target genes.
