Immune system cells that also protect against fungi

A study led by Prof. Francesca Levi-Schaffer from the School of Pharmacy, together with doctoral students Ilan Zaafran and Prince Ofori, and postdoctoral researcher Pratibha Gur, reveals that eosinophils, known primarily as key drivers of allergies and asthma, also play a protective role against the dangerous fungus Candida albicans.
