Prof. Joe Abramson, one of the founders of our school, passed away in February 2017. His textbooks "Making Sense of Data" and "Research Methods in Community Medicine", the PEPI statistical software and his scientific writings continue to inspire teachers, students, researchers and practitioners around the world. He retired as Professor of Social Medicine in 1992 and continued to teach Israeli and international students until close to his 90^th birthday.

We, the staff, students and alumni of the Braun School cherish Professor Abramson's memory and strive to carry on the legacy of this giant of epidemiology and community medicine. On the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of Professor Abramson's passing, we invite our graduates to contribute to the Joe Abramson Memorial Fund at the Braun School.  This fund is an opportunity for Braun School alumni and friends to stay involved, contribute to the education of young colleagues, and promote lifelong learning in public health. Donations to the fund are used toward scholarships and travel awards for International and Israeli Braun School students and young researchers. At this year’s annual Awards and Scholarships Ceremony two doctoral students, Shamam Waldman and Wiessam Abu Ahmed (far right) received Joe Abramson Memorial Fund awards. The awards were presented by Joe's grandson, Jonathan (3^rd from right).
