About Us

The Neuro-Developmental Disabilities and Writing Research Laboratory focuses on researching issues related to functioning and participation in various life domains (self-care, learning, leisure, instrumental daily activities, and social participation), as well as the quality of life, emotional needs and resilience of diverse populations with neurodevelopmental disorders. The lab conducts research on children, adolescents, and adults with developmental coordination disorder (DCD), attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), and specific learning disorder (SLD). The goals of these research projects are to deeply understand the strengths and challenges of individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders throughout different stages of life and to develop diagnostic tools and intervention protocols.
Another central area of research in the lab is the writing and typing functions of both healthy populations and those with neurodevelopmental disorders. The objectives of projects in this area are to gain an understanding of the complex activities of writing and typing, which are challenging for many individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. As part of these projects, we develop assessment tools and software (such as keyloggers) to explore these issues, as well as protocols for teaching typing in educational and other settings. These projects are conducted both in the lab and in the community, such as in kindergartens, schools, higher education institutions, and in collaboration with child development centers
