IMPH Alumni Meeting Nigeria 2016

From 8-10 February 2016, the Braun School’s IMPH team co-hosted the Pears West Africa Regional Meeting with the College of Health Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, one of the leading universities in Nigeria and in sub-Saharan Africa. IMPH alumnus, Dr. Adesegun Fatusi, Provost of the College of Health Sciences, facilitated the connections with the University and invited speakers. Twenty-two IMPH alumni from Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, Senegal and Nigeria (including two senior alumni – 1973 and 1998) together with invited non-alumni Health Systems experts met to explore the timely and pertinent theme of “Health Systems: Transitioning from Infectious Diseases to Non-Communicable Diseases”. This meeting provided an opportunity for IMPH alumni, working in and on health systems, to present their experience at the local, national, regional and global levels. The program included presentations from both invited speakers and our IMPH alumni.
