​Open Positions

We are searching for people for several new positions as part of our ERC project, "Seeing with the ears, hands, and bionic eyes: from theories of brain organizaion to visual rehabilitation" (in short: "The Brain Vision Rehab Project"). Our research focuses on blindness, ranging from basic science, querying brain plasticity and sensory integration, to technological developments.  We are developing several innovative sensory-substitution devices (SSDs) which encode the most crucial aspects of vision, increasing their accessibility to the Blind population. We use these SSDs to perform research on brain development, plasticity, and organization, and use these insights to advance visual rehabilitation approaches. Our lab has access to state-of-the-art neuroimaging facilities, including a research-only 3T MRI scanner and TMS, as well as behavioral tracking and motion tracking systems.

PostDoc and PhD Positions

 
For the PostDoc position:
applicants should have a PhD or equivalent degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Bioinformatics, Medicine, engineering, physics or computer science background. Read more
 
For PhD positions: 
applicants with engineering, physics or computer science background are encouraged to apply (but candidates from Neuroscience or related fields background will also be considered). 

Prior experience in functional imaging, Matlab, TMS, data analysis or modeling would be an advantage.
Both positions are funded by an EU-FP7 grant and by a Human Frontiers Science Program grant.

חונכים לאימון נסיינים עיוורים (משרת סטודנט)

עבודה באחד-על-אחד עם משתמשים עיוורים במכשירים של המעבדה, הרצת ניסויים וסיוע בעיצוב ותכנון שיעורים וניסויים מתקדמים. שיעורים יכולים לכלול משחקי מחשב, פעילות בעולם האמיתי, מסלולי מכשולים ועוד. מדובר בכ- 10 שעות עבודה שבועיות בלו"ז גמיש להחלטת המאמן והמתאמן.

דרישות:

  • כ-5 פגישות עבודה שבועיות (פיזית או בחיבור מרחוק דרך המחשב) עם משתמשים עיוורים במכשיר, באורך של כשעתיים לפגישה
  • מחויבות לשנת עבודה
  • חברותיות וכישורי הדרכה
  • רצון לסייע בשיקום

תנאים: שכר סטודנט לפי שעות, שעות עבודה גמישות, מיקום עבודה גמיש. 

אפשרות להתפתח מתוך זה לעבודה נוספת במעבדה בתשלום, או לפרויקט מחקר עבור נקודות זכות אקדמיות.

Graduate Student Position
 

We are currently seeking a highly qualified graduate student to join our research. Part of the work might be undertaken in Europe as part of a cross- laboratory collaboration.

Student applicants from a variety of backgrounds are well suited to pursue our interdisciplinary research:  degrees can include neuroscience, medical science, engineering, psychology, physics and computer science.
