Michal Brownstien-Zarem from the Faculty of Medicine Wins the Israeli Psychiatric Association Research Award for 2025
Michal Brownstien-Zerem has won the 2025 Research Award from the Israeli Psychiatric Association for her research: "Striking long-term benefits of single dose psilocybin and psychedelic mushrooms extract in the SAPAP3 rodent model of excessive self-grooming."
The research was published in "Molecular Psychiatry".
Michal is a fourth-year medical student at the Hebrew University Faculty of Medicine. She conducted the research as part of her Master's degree in Neurobiology at the Center for Psychedelic Research, the Biological Psychiatry Laboratory at Hadassah, and the Hebrew University, under the supervision of Professor Benjamin Lerer.
