Prof. Cohen Amikam (1937-2021)
A pioneer in bacterial genetics and a leader in the field of yeast chromatin dynamics. An amazing scientist, an inspiring teacher, and a cherished colleague, we deeply miss. His legacy continues to shape and inspire our scientific community.
Prof. Rottem Shlomo (1943-2022)
An internationally esteemed microbiologist in the field of mycoplasma, biochemistry, genetics and related human diseases and a leader of the Israeli Microbiology Community.
Prof. Hanna Engelberg-Kulka (1932–2025)
A world-renowned leader in microbiology, with seminal contributions to the understanding of bacterial altruism, stress response, and toxin-anti toxin systems. A recipient of the prestigious EMET Prize and a pillar of the Israeli microbial research.
Prof. Hervé (Hillel) Bercovier (1946–2025)
A distinguished expert in pathogenic bacteria, pathogen evolution, and molecular epidemiology. Hervé Bercovier was a pioneer in the development of novel vaccines and antibiotic delivery systems. He was not only a brilliant scientist and innovator but also an extraordinary mentor and teacher.
