Details of Academic Program
The duration of the program for a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences (B.Sc. Med) is three years
At present 145 credits are required to complete the full program.
The first-year curriculum includes courses in the fields of: statistics, natural sciences (chemistry, physics, physical chemistry), and basic courses in the structure of the human body (anatomy), human biology, biochemistry, experience with selected research methods in the genetics and biochemistry of proteins.
From the 2nd year and running through until the end of the 3rd year of studies, students choose to be affiliated to 1 out of 4 modules and expand their knowledge in this module
The second-year curriculum mandatory to all students includes courses in the fields of: neurobiology, cellular physiology, molecular biology, metabolic and physiological biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, histology, practical experience in molecular biology, python. In addition, each student studies mandatory courses from their chosen module.
The third-year curriculum mandatory to all students includes courses in the fields of: pharmacology, embryology, human genetics, bioinformatics and in addition further module courses, including a lab experience course.
The program offers also elective hands-on lab courses for 2nd and 3rd year students
